The Department of Education of the Arrecife City Council, led by Abigail González, will begin on June 23 the renovation works of the metal fences of the CEIP La Destila, an action highly demanded by the educational community and that will solve a problem that the center has been dragging for years.

The works, awarded to the company Cristalería y Aluminios Arjovi S.L. for a total amount of 39,996.60 euros, will be carried out during the summer months, taking advantage of the school recess after the end of the course on June 20.

The project contemplates the reform of 135 fence units, including 22 circular units with colorless methacrylate of 8 and 6 mm, and 113 rectangular units with white composite panels of 6 mm, distributed on the ground floor, upper floor and upper floor of the school's court.

The Deputy Mayor of the Arrecife City Council and Head of Contracting, Echedey Eugenio, has highlighted that “this action is a direct response to a need raised for some time by the center and by families. We fulfill our commitment to address the most urgent demands of our schools and we also do so in the most appropriate period so as not to interfere with school activity.”

For her part, the Councilor for Education, Abigail González, has stressed that “the safety and well-being of schoolchildren is a priority. This work not only improves the image of the school, but also responds to a real need. We will continue working to progressively improve the educational infrastructures of Arrecife.”
