The Arrecife City Council has announced that Argana Alta will have the "largest" playground in Lanzarote. An investment of 451,377.41 euros, including taxes, will allow families to enjoy "in 2021" this new public equipment area according to the City Council.

The Public Sector Procurement Platform has inserted since this Tuesday, October 20, the official tender for the works to create a playground and bio-healthy area to be built on a municipal property.

The Arrecife government group, led by Mayor Ástrid Pérez, has promoted the construction and conditioning of this leisure area in the neighborhood, "which until now did not have any endowment." In addition to creating a playground and a bio-healthy area, urban furniture, a shaded area and vegetation will be installed.

Ástrid Pérez highlights that public investments are reaching the Argana Alta neighborhood, as she claims to have promised and guaranteed to the residents, and to their representative associations in the different neighborhood meetings she held in recent months.

This new public equipment area will be on a plot of land that exceeds 1,000 square meters in the Calle Tajaraste, a neuralgic road in the Argana Alta neighborhood, where the largest resident population of the island's capital is concentrated.

Accessible facilities

With this public investment, which will be supervised and awarded by the Cabildo de Lanzarote through the Area of Public Works and Project Planning, under the direction of the vice president and councilor Jacobo Medina, the City Council states that Argana Alta will premiere "during 2021" an equipment area with bio-healthy machines for the elderly, children's attractions for children, and an outdoor gym, which they usually call Gym Street. All these new facilities will be accessible.

Interested companies have until November 10 to submit their proposals to this new tender. According to the specifications published on the Public Sector Procurement Platform, the awarded company will have five months for its execution and commissioning, after the award process.

Arrecife will renovate all playgrounds in this term

This new work is added to the project of Mayor Ástrid Pérez, together with her government team, to modernize "all the playgrounds in all the neighborhoods of Arrecife." The City Council already has the project and the financing to execute during this term the renovation of all existing facilities for children's leisure, where the Arrecife City Council will bet on "inclusive and accessible" parks.
