The spokesperson for Coalición Canaria in the Tías City Council, Amado Vizcaíno, has publicly denounced the alleged "threats" received from the PSOE via registered mail. According to the nationalist, the content of this document urges him to "remain silent under the warning of possible legal action".
Vizcaíno has described this act as "of extreme democratic gravity" and has assured that "far from intimidating him, it reinforces his commitment to the oversight and control of the governing group.""If the PSOE believes that with lawyers and threats they will silence me, they are mistaken. I will continue to scrutinize their management, that of the mayor, and that of the rest of the councilors, exactly the same or with more intensity than before," stated the nationalist spokesperson
Coalición Canaria has stated that "it is not the first time that key information has been requested" from the governing group without receiving a response, especially regarding the hiring processes for teaching staff and management personnel for the Alternating Training Programs with Employment (PFAE) since 2020.
“For years we have been asking something as simple as who has been hired and under what criteria. There have been no clear public selection processes, but rather many familiar faces from the socialist circles. If they want to clear up doubts, they should explain it publicly,” Vizcaíno stated.
The CC councilor also reported that the City Council itself has had to "return nearly one million euros for **not correctly carrying out the hiring procedures for teaching staff**, a fact that was omitted by the governing party in its public reports."
Criticizes Intervention's Objections
Likewise, Vizcaíno was emphatic in stating that "anyone who claims to be concerned about their honor should start by respecting the municipal technical reports, referring to the numerous objections raised by the comptroller during council meetings by the PSOE.""If they are so concerned about transparency and honor, they should not vote against the auditor's reports, reports that literally warn that these invoices 'lack the mandatory prior contracting by the contracting authority' and that 'the rigor that must accompany the execution of municipal expenses, which involves the use of municipal public funds, is being disregarded'," he denouncedSo, the councilor pointed out, "if what they want is to go to court, they shouldn't forget to bring the auditor's objection reports, which among other things also talk about employment."The nationalist councilman has stated that he has requested "on multiple occasions" access to "hundreds, even thousands of invoices with objections, without the documentation being delivered to him to this day.""I'm not saying it, the comptroller is saying it, who goes as far as to speak of 'clear lack of control over said contracts, services, and invoicing' and of the 'need to cease this way of acting.' And yet, they override the objections in full session, causing delays in payments to suppliers and evident economic chaos. Perhaps they have something to hide," he addsVizcaíno also described as "intolerable" that the registered letter was sent to his private address, even mistakenly appearing as the headquarters of Coalición Canaria in Tías"I don't feel fear, I feel pity. Pity for a government that prefers to threaten rather than manage. A government that boasts of progress while Tías continues to stagnate," he stated.
Projects he doesn't execute
In this regard, the CC spokesperson listed some of the projects that the governing group "sells but does not execute," such as the Modernization Plan —"more hotels and less housing"—, "a mobility plan that does not reach towns like Masdache, the lack of basic sports infrastructure, or a municipal swimming pool closed for 15 years, which the PSOE has not opened in six years of government despite promising to do so in six months and announcing its imminent opening on several occasions.""The list is long and I will continue to denounce it, despite their threats. Paper can withstand anything, but the reality of Tías cannot be covered up with drawings and projects that are never executed," Vizcaíno concluded
Coalición Canaria has warned that "if the PSOE's strategy is to try to silence the opposition through legal threats, the effect will be exactly the opposite." "No matter how many threats we receive, we will not be silenced. Scrutinizing the government is not only our right, it is our obligation to the residents of Tías," the nationalist spokesperson states.
