Next week, the construction works will begin for the construction of the picnic area that will be in the surroundings of the future Tegoyo Hostel. It will be located in one of the plots classified as a General System of Free Spaces, where the Tías City Council points out that "a recreational area will be developed, destined for the leisure and recreation of people and improvement of environmental quality."

The picnic area will be the first phase of the execution of the restructuring project of a municipal farm that was abandoned to turn it into an outdoor recreational area. Barbecue areas, a nature classroom and a multipurpose room, toilets, playgrounds, sports courts and gardens will be installed there. Likewise, an area will be dedicated to the cultivation of fruit trees typical of the islands and native flora. The objective of the City Council is to improve this natural environment and turn it into a space for the enjoyment of the residents, equipped with street furniture.

For the first phase, in which three barbecue areas will be built, the Council will allocate 15,000 euros, it will be executed in six months and will have water and electricity services. Each of the areas will consist of a stone wall in the shape of a half-moon souk, as a protection, in which three independent barbecues with their corresponding tables will be housed. Likewise, trees will be planted, which will serve as natural windbreaks (300) and others (12), of the Indian laurel type, will provide shade to these areas.

In the following phases, the nature classroom and the sports area, a pergola promenade, children's play areas, native flora gardens and a palm grove will be built.
