Lanzarote now has a second facility for passing the Vehicle Technical Inspection (ITV), which is located in the industrial area of Playa Honda. On Friday, the machinery was tested with fleet vehicles and also with some private vehicles. The infrastructure, located on a plot of 4,300 square meters, has involved an investment of almost 4 million euros.

The warehouse has three lanes where three vehicles can pass the inspection independently. "Two are for vehicles that can be mixed and one for mixed and heavy vehicles, that is, vehicles of great tonnage can come", explains Emilio Hernández, one of the partners.

In this ITV, "everything is computerized." "When the client enters, they find very large computer screens, on which they can see each test that is done to their vehicle. They don't have to trust what the operator says because they themselves are seeing everything", says Hernández, who assures that this system "is not usual", it is "unique" in the Canary Islands and "there are very few ITVs like this in the Peninsula".

In addition, it has a service for people who get nervous when they have to pass this inspection. The ITV operators take care of this inspection free of charge, as long as the client requests it in advance.
