The Yaiza City Council will not organize its Three Kings parades at the usual events on January 5 in the towns of Yaiza and Playa Blanca, but it does plan for that same date a vehicle tour of their Majesties from the East through the different southern towns.
"It is a way to keep the illusion alive among the little ones in a very difficult time in which we cannot celebrate as we would like, but we can bring a little joy, as long as the situation allows it because the conditions imposed by the pandemic are very changing, although we are optimistic,” says the mayor, Óscar Noda.
The visit of the Three Kings to the municipality of Yaiza next January will be similar to the tour that Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar have made in recent years through the towns that do not have parades. “Regardless of dates as important for families as Christmas, New Year's Eve and Epiphany, we maintain our message of citizen awareness for the responsible compliance with the recommendations dictated by the health authorities,” emphasizes the southern mayor, who also guarantees Christmas lighting and decoration for the end-of-year season, which extends until January 6.
“We will invest less money this year, but we understand that lighting, in addition to decorating our municipality, is an element that helps to boost commercial areas and promote consumption that shops, restaurants, hairdressers and all types of businesses need so much,” adds the mayor of Yaiza.
