UCMAS Lanzarote has achieved, with only 4 months of operation, the champion and runner-up UCMAS of mental calculation of the Canary Islands in its category. The II UCMAS Regional Championship of the Canary Islands took place on May 5 in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, with the participation of 480 children from all the islands.
These successes of the UCMAS method are due to the fact that it is an intellectual development program designed to stimulate a more complete use of the brain, especially the right hemisphere, contributing to developing concentration, visual and auditory memory, self-confidence, creativity and, ultimately, the basic skills necessary to be able to face any challenge that requires a mental effort.
Some of the participating schools in the championship were: British School Maspalomas, Canterbury School, Arenas Schools, Salesianos School, Teresianos School, La Salle, British School Las Palmas, Oakley Collage, Claret School, among many others.
