The painting of the word: Wealth for All

"Wealth for All" is, in addition to a declaration of principles, a human and poetic reflection, as Luis Villalba usually does, made of painting. Some works that make up the new exhibition that is currently on display at El Taller de Arte, in Conil, Tías, an artistic institution on the island of Lanzarote, of which he himself was a mentor and which he has directed since 2002, notably contributing to the enrichment of the island's cultural life.

At first we have the impression of not knowing the author of the exhibited work, because it is so different from everything he has presented until today. But it is only a fleeting impression. Soon the mystery of Luis Villalba's paintings immerse us in the idiosyncrasy of his aesthetic records. The six main works in the exhibition are titled: "Red Monochromia", "Orange Monochromia", "Yellow Monochromia", "Pink Monochromia", "Blue Monochromia" and "Green Monochromia".

But this time a new element appears in Luis Villalba's paintings. The titles have always played an important role in his works. Now it is possible to perceive that the word in his work has never been accidental, but content. The author expresses it this way: "I love the word, not only for its meaning, which is already a lot, but also for what it leads us to imagine, to reflect. A person with a word, only people use them, the other living beings communicate with sounds, isn't it true? A person with a word is a rich, plethoric person. And she herself, in her life, without having proposed it, becomes an important element for intelligence, prosperity, well-being, justice, joy and peace in our democratic society."
