The Air Force personnel incorporated into the Covid-19 tracker team in Lanzarote "has exceeded 500 contacts detected, contributing to the important work that this team does to contain the epidemic." This was stated by the Air Command in the Canary Islands, dependent on the Ministry of Defense, in a statement sent this Wednesday, just one month after these soldiers joined the work of tracking positive cases of coronavirus on the island.
"These soldiers are proud to be part of a team that carries out its work with professionalism and dedication, and appreciate the welcome that both the authorities and the trackers of the Canarian Health Service in Lanzarote have given them since their incorporation on September 14, providing them with the necessary training and support and working with them side by side," the note adds.
In total, five soldiers from the Air Force, three belonging to the Lanzarote Military Aerodrome and two from the Air Surveillance Squadron number 22, joined the epidemiological surveillance work of Covid-19 on the island, within the so-called "Mission Baluarte", to support the autonomous communities in the fight against this disease.
This personnel carries out tracking work from the Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital in Arrecife, thus joining the center's tracking team.
