The Teguise City Council has announced that the security device activated due to the state of alarm is being reinforced in areas likely to suffer a greater number of incidents, such as commercial areas and hotel establishments that remain closed and require greater surveillance.

Precisely, on Monday there was a robbery at a hotel in Costa Teguise, of which La Voz echoed with images. In them, it could be seen how one of the two thieves accessed the facilities in broad daylight and took out four barrels of beer that appeared to be empty, while the other watched, both fleeing later in a vehicle.

"Although a level of civility and compliance with the decree in Teguise worthy of praise is being recorded, the truth is that there are behaviors, in some cases, criminal, that require us to increase the presence of agents in various parts of the municipality, especially in Costa Teguise, to forcefully pursue those who intend to break the law by taking advantage of the situation," said the mayor of Teguise, Oswaldo Betancort

"We appreciate the exquisite coordination between the different administrations and between the different Security Forces, and we also request full citizen collaboration to act as quickly as possible and avoid robberies," said Betancort, who invites you to call 928 84 52 52 in case of any suspicion.

Social care at home throughout the municipality

On the other hand, the mayor of Teguise reminds the residents of all the payments in the municipality, "without exception, that the City Council has restructured all its areas to offer greater attention and support to citizens, especially the elderly and those with reduced mobility, guaranteeing at all times the effective provision of care and social services to the most vulnerable groups."

"Priority is being given to food purchases to be served at home, as well as managing requests to financially cover them in case of need, and catering services with a daily menu are also being enabled," says Betancort, who states that "this aid also reaches coastal areas such as Caleta de Famara, and also the island of La Graciosa."

The City Council also offers attention and transportation service for those elderly people or with mobility difficulties who need to go to the supermarket, pharmacy or necessary basic service. The hours of operation are from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and the telephone numbers are 928 84 59 26 - 928 84 53 55 and 928 84 53 39. After 2:00 p.m. and on weekends, they can contact Emerlan, through the telephone 617 387 784.
