It had 15 nominations to compete in the Goya Awards and finally it has been left without any nomination. "Seis puntos sobre Emma", the film by the director from Lanzarote, Roberto Pérez Toledo, has finally been left at the doors of the famous awards.
Roberto Pérez Toledo's first film had nominations in the categories of best film and best new direction. Likewise, Verónica Echegui's performance in this film had been valued by the Film Academy to be able to get a nomination, in the category of best female performance. The actress has finally been nominated in this category, but for her role in another film, in "Katmandú: un espejo en el cielo".
Other actors from "Seis puntos sobre Emma" were also fighting to get a Goya nomination, as was the case of Fernando Tielve, who was selected in the category of best male supporting performance, and Blanca Rodríguez, in this case selected in the female category. Nacho Aldeguer, Álex García and Mariam Hernández competed in the categories of best actors and breakthrough actress, respectively, but have also been left at the doors.
"Seis puntos sobre Emma" also had nominations in the categories of best original screenplay (Roberto Pérez Toledo and Peter Andermatt); best original music (David Cordero); best production direction (Ana Sánchez-Gijón); and best photography direction (Juan Antonio Castaño).
The film has only been screened so far in Canary Island cinemas, so its director, Roberto Pérez Toledo, was already aware of the difficulty of getting any nomination as it had not been released nationally, as he himself pointed out after announcing that he had obtained 15 nominations.
