The General Directorate of Agriculture of the Government of the Canary Islands, through the public company GMR Canarias, makes available to professionals in the primary sector a free administrative assistance service aimed at facilitating and streamlining the process of registering farms in the Register of Agricultural Holdings of the Canary Islands (REAC) through the SGA, the Unique Computer System for the Management of Aid of the Common Agricultural Policy (PAC), a mandatory procedure.

The Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Food Sovereignty of the Canarian Executive, Narvay Quintero, indicated that “this measure complements other accompanying actions such as the creation by the department of user manuals that sought to reinforce the implementation and scope of this tool, which is the basis for incorporating and keeping updated the data of agricultural and livestock farms in the Islands and is mandatory”.
“The purpose of this support service is to alleviate the administrative burden of users, a historical demand of the sector, as far as possible,” he added.
The REAC, created in the Canary Islands by Decree 18/2025, of March 10, links the registered farms with the Information System of Agricultural, Livestock and Agrarian Production Holdings (SIEX). Its processing is carried out through the SGA, available on the electronic headquarters of the Government of the Canary Islands, and allows for actions such as declaring holdings, modifying specific information on areas and crop types or validating data. It is the responsibility of the production holder to keep these details updated.
On the other hand, the official REAC page also provides access to authorization and qualification procedures for entities so that other people can act on behalf of the ownership of the farm if necessary. Likewise, the portal includes a section for nurseries or wine-making vineyard plots, and also includes a frequently asked questions section to facilitate the search for key information.
