At 7:30 p.m. the celebration presided over by the parish priest of San Ginés Obispo, Juan Carlos Medina, corresponding to Good Friday, began. A Eucharist that started in silence, with the priest prostrated in front of the altar, with his face on the ground, remembering the agony of Jesus, and the faithful kneeling in silence for a few moments.

Immediately afterwards, the Liturgy of the Word began, the first reading corresponding to the prophet Isaiah (the suffering servant), the second from the Letter to the Hebrews, both interspersed by the psalm (Father, into your hands I commend my spirit), sung by José Manuel Clar, accompanied on the piano by Professor Josefina González, who was in charge of enlivening all the songs.

After the second reading had been read and without acclamation, the complete account of the Passion according to Saint John was proclaimed, where two parishioners participated, one in the role of Chronicler, and the other in the role of the Sanhedrin and the presiding priest in the role of Jesus. After reading the "Passion" on this Good Friday, the Liturgy of the Word ended with the "Universal Prayer", made in a solemn manner.

Then the adoration of the "Tree of the Cross" took place, a moment where the priest was discovering the Crucifix in three stages for the adoration of all the faithful and this year due to covid and complying with health regulations the faithful did not approach the image of the Crucified as in previous years and from the place where they were located they made the adoration.

Good Friday is the only day of the year that there is no consecration and Communion is distributed to the faithful with the Sacred Forms reserved in the monument of the previous day "Holy Thursday". After the celebration, the procession of the Holy Burial proceeded, headed by the music band "La Unión", directed by Professor Pepe Artiles, followed by the "Holy Sepulchre with the Recumbent Christ", and after him the image of Our Lady of Sorrows, wrapped by the parish priest Juan Carlos Medina and the parishioners who accompanied them throughout the tour of the main streets of the capital of Lanzarote.

After the procession of the Holy Burial, the Fervorín de la Dolorosa and the procession of Solitude around the church square took place.
