The Poliarrecife Karate Club has won two gold medals over the weekend in two competitions held in Córdoba and Tenerife. Abdalla El Jaafari and Marius Sasu Bodarnea were the protagonists of the results obtained by the Arrecife club.

Abdalla El Jaafari won the gold medal this Sunday, November 1, at the National Karate League Day of the Royal Spanish Karate Federation (RFEK), held in Córdoba. The Poliarrecife Karate Club athlete prevailed in all his fights in the Master VET X1 Male category over 75 kilos.

With this result, the Arrecife club placed seventh in the medal table among the 77 participating clubs.

The victory also allows El Jaafari to qualify for the Grand Final of the National League of all categories, which will be held in December in Guadalajara. The karateka currently occupies second place in the ranking of his category, after the two qualifying days held. Only the top eight classified in each category will access the final.

For his part, Marius Sasu Bodarnea won another gold medal on Saturday, October 31, at the Adeje Karate Championship, a regional competition organized by the Canary Islands Karate Federation.

The Poliarrecife athlete was proclaimed champion in the Juvenile Male Kumite category, after winning all his fights with results of 2-0, 2-0, and 3-1.

Next event in Ourense

The Poliarrecife Karate Club, whose training headquarters is located at the Municipal Pavilion of Titerroy, maintains a year-round schedule of competitions at regional, national, and international levels.

The next event will be on November 7 in Ourense, where the club will participate in the second phase of the National League for the youngest categories.

Marius Sasu, Mohamed Kouchamy, and Gael Suárez will travel to the Galician town, competing, respectively, in the Juvenile Male Kumite category over 60 kilos, Juvenile Male Kumite under 50 kilos, and Alevín Male Kumite under 34 kilos.

The three karatekas will try to achieve new results that will allow them to aim for a place in the Grand Final of the National League of all categories, scheduled for next December in Guadalajara.
