Magec Tías Lanzarote Against Gender Violence could not achieve its second victory of the season and fell to El Cochinillo Segoviano by 67-81, in a match in which the Lanzaroteñas showed the ability to react and offered one of their best versions during the third quarter. The final result does not fully reflect the work done by Marius Bonjorn's team, which competed, overcame a significant deficit, and even put its rival on the ropes.

The match featured several new additions to the red-and-black team's roster. The main one was the incorporation of Tatyanna Burke, who was finally able to travel from the United States after resolving her visa issues. Andrea Hernández also made her debut, a player who had started the week as part of the Segovian team's discipline and ended up joining the Lanzaroteño team.

Regarding absences, the injuries that the squad was already dealing with were joined by that of Nayala González. The young player, one of the junior team members who had had the most prominence during the first few games of the season, suffered an ankle injury during warm-up and could not participate in the match.

The game began with a very high pace of play, fast attacks, and poor shooting accuracy from both teams. The absence of personal fouls allowed the first period to pass almost without interruption, becoming one of the fastest quarters in the category. In that scenario, Magec Tías Lanzarote managed to take the initiative and close the first ten minutes with a slight advantage of 16-14, showing good feelings in front of their fans.

The dynamic continued during the early stages of the second quarter, although the game began to change when El Cochinillo Segoviano found it easier to score. The visitors took advantage of their best offensive moments to turn the score around and begin to build a lead that forced the home bench to call a timeout.

The adjustments were not enough to stop the progress of the mainland team, which continued to extend its lead until halftime with a score of 24-37. A partial score of 8-23 in these ten minutes left Magec Tías Lanzarote thirteen points behind and in need of changing the course of the game.

After the locker room break, the best version of the Lanzarote team arrived. Magec Tías Lanzarote Contra la Violencia de Género modified its approach, opted for a more measured and elaborate game, and began to make better decisions in attack.

Patience allowed them to find better shooting situations and, little by little, the home team began to close the gap. The reaction grew as the minutes passed until they not only neutralized the visiting team's lead but also took the lead on the scoreboard, causing concern for the Segovian team.

The Pabellón Municipal de Tías also got into the game. The fans supported their team's reaction and pushed a team that was having an extraordinary third quarter. Finally, El Cochinillo Segoviano managed to stop the comeback in the final moments, and the third quarter ended with a 55-55 tie. The statistic reflected the magnitude of what the Lanzaroteñas had achieved: they had scored 31 points in a single quarter, seven more than they had scored in the entire first half.

With everything to play for, the final ten minutes began with maximum equality. However, El Cochinillo Segoviano increased their defensive intensity and complicated the offensive actions of Magec Tías Lanzarote, which began to find greater difficulty in maintaining the rhythm it had shown in the previous quarter.

The effort made to overcome the thirteen-point deficit also began to take its toll on the local players. Despite this, Marius Bonjorn's team did not stop trying and fought until the last moments in search of a second victory that ultimately could not be achieved. The Segovian team ended up winning 67-81, with Magec Tías Lanzarote Contra la Violencia de Género suffering their fourth defeat of the 2026/2027 season.

Beyond the result, the match once again showed positive signs in the team's growth. The new signings and the possibilities offered by rotations are allowing the coaching staff to expand their alternatives, while the comeback in the third quarter demonstrates the competitive capacity of a squad that continues to seek its best version.

Magec Tías Lanzarote will face a new trip to the Community of Madrid next matchday to face Grupo Interbus Alcobendas. The match will be played on Saturday, November 7 at 4:00 PM (Canary Islands time), at the Antela Parada Pavilion. It will not be a simple commitment for the Lanzaroteñas, who will face a rival that is having a good start to the competition, with a record of four wins and only one loss.
