Framed within the cultural program of the Lanzarote Summer University, the flamenco guitarist Pedro Sierra will offer a concert in Lanzarote, which will take place on Friday, July 14, at 10:00 p.m., at the Cine Buñuel of the CIC El Almacén. Tickets for his performance are already on sale, cost 5 euros, and can be purchased at the CIC El Almacén itself.
Born in Hospitalet de Llobregat in 1966, Pedro Sierra was already playing with flamenco clubs in Barcelona from the age of nine and received classes from teachers such as Manolo Sanlúcar and Isidro Muñoz. His presence in prominent flamenco shows led him to settle in Madrid and later in Seville, where he accompanies people such as Carmen Linares, Javier Barón, José Mercé or La Chana on the guitar.
Embarked on the tour of the show Cumbre flamenca, the author of "Nikelao" performs in New York, Paris, Tokyo, Mexico, Jakarta, Rome, etc. His appearances skyrocket and the sound of his six strings begins to be heard in concerts and albums by Manuela Carrasco, Diego Clavel, Manuel Mairena, Farruquito, La Susi, El Potito, Parrita, La Tobala, El Polaco, Lolita Valderrama, Luis de Lebrija, El Boquerón, Isabel Pantoja, Juanito Maravillas, Chiquetete, Romeros de la Puebla, Diego Vargas,...
Now, Pedro Sierra presents his latest work throughout Spain, and his tour brings him to Lanzarote. In "Nikelao", Sierra presents his good work both with the solo guitar and accompanying singing and dancing. In the opinion of experts, the guitarist shows in his art a precise and refined touch, which skillfully and without jarring, combines the touches of the past with current trends. Segurillas, bulerías, soleás and granaínas peek out smoothly through the grooves of "Nikelao". On the album you can hear the voices of the enormous Enrique Morente, Antonio Mairena, Juan Valderrama and Pepe Marchena, or the tap dancing of Israel Galván, the brand new 2005 National Dance Award. Without a doubt, this is a golden opportunity to enjoy one of the musics that is least performed on Lanzarote stages, flamenco, and to do so at the hands of one of the names that will be heard the most in the coming years.
