The Amma Tías senior residence celebrated its fourth anniversary for several days with various activities, with the active participation of residents, family members and workers.
Among other events, there have been several musical performances carried out by groups from the island such as Simpatía, formed by senior members of the Arrecife senior center, or Comunidad Terapéutica Zonzamas", composed of a group of young people and adults. The Al Andalus Rociero Group, the Adislan Youth Group and El Pavón also visited the residence, filling the center with the sounds of typical Canarian songs and couplets.
During these days of anniversary celebration, the mayor of Tías, José Juan Cruz Saavedra, also visited. The grand finale was given by the Marina de Puerto del Carmen Polyphonic Choir, followed by a special anniversary meal.
The Amma Tías residence, managed by the Amma Group by administrative concession from the Island Council of Lanzarote, opened its doors at the end of April 2007 and has 92 residential places.
