The age group of 40 to 49 years is the one that has increased the most in cases of coronavirus in the first week of October in the Canary Islands, going from 2,324 to 2,477, thus experiencing an increase of 153 more positives in these last seven days.
This is clear from the data published by the Ministry of Health of the Canary Islands Government on the positives that occur in the different age groups. The second age group that rises is that of people between 30 and 39 years old, which increases by 145 cases, going from 2,329 to 2,395.
The age groups of people between 50 and 59 years old are closely followed, with an increase of 132 cases, going from 1,907 to 2,039, and that of 20 to 29 years old, with an increase of 130 more positives in the last seven days, starting the week with 2,425 and ending it with 2,555 cases.
After them are the people between 60 and 69 years old, with an increase of 99 cases, going from 1,256 to 1,355 positives; followed by young people between 10 and 19 years old, starting the week with 1,140 cases and ending it with 1,235, which implies 95 more positives.
Finally, they are followed in the increase of cases by people between 70 and 79 years old, with 57 more positives, followed by children between 0 and 9 years old with an increase of 45 cases and people over 80 years old with an increase of 29 positives.
The Canary Islands has ended the first week of October with 14,154 cases registered since the beginning of the health crisis, of which 238 people have died, while 6,794 have been discharged from hospital and 7,122 cases are active.
