Lanzarote airport recorded this Thursday an image that had not been seen since before the pandemic: that of a long queue of people waiting for a taxi at the exit of the arrivals area of terminal 1, where national and international flights land.

As can be seen in a photograph, dozens of visitors were waiting at the taxi rank, where there were hardly any vehicles. An image that had disappeared with Covid, as a result of the decrease in tourists that has been recorded on the island since then.

Last month, Lanzarote airport received 203,394 passengers, the second best figure recorded since the start of the coronavirus pandemic. However, this figure was still far from the traffic of travelers that existed before Covid, when that figure was tripled.

Now, during July, the increase in activity has continued to be noticed every day. As confirmed by Aena, the Lanzarote aerodrome had 146 operations scheduled for this Thursday, 74 departures and 72 arrivals, although the number of passengers was unknown, given that the entity only reports them monthly.
