The General Directorate of Emergencies of the Government of the Canary Islands has declared a situation of pre-alert for wind in Lanzarote and in the rest of the archipelago.
In a notice signed on Tuesday morning, at 12:00 p.m., the Ministry of Territorial Policy, Territorial Cohesion and Water indicates that from 10:00 p.m. at night the wind gusts could exceed 70 kilometers per hour in southeastern Lanzarote, as well as in other Canary Islands.
This declaration of pre-alert is in addition to the pre-alert for high temperatures and the pre-alert for coastal phenomena announced on Monday morning.
These declarations have been made based on the prediction of the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), which already warned last week that from this Monday the temperatures on the island would begin to rise and that the trade wind would blow strongly in the high seas and in the coastal areas.
