The Extraordinary Assembly held last Friday, March 20, at the S.C.D.R. Casa del Miedo agreed to the election of Pedro Cabrera Robson as the new president of the entity. The appointment was ratified during the Annual Assembly held on the afternoon of this Friday, in which the accountability report corresponding to the 2025 fiscal year was also presented.
During his intervention, Cabrera had words of recognition for Manolo Gutiérrez and expressed his gratitude to José Tabares, the outgoing president, for the work developed during his previous administrations.
The composition of the new Board of Directors was also announced, which will be made up, in addition to Pedro Cabrera Robson, as president, José Tabares Saavedra (vice-president), Santiago J. Cabrera San Ginés (secretary), José Luis Betancort Rodríguez (treasurer) and the board members, occupied by Israel González Cabrera, Jacinto Oliva Toledo, María José García Acosta, Jorge Martín Montelongo and Celeste Callero Cañada.

The continuity of Tabares on the Board of Directors, now in the vice-presidency, “guarantees the continuity of the work developed during recent years and brings experience to the new cycle”.
The House of Fear was built by a group of neighbors for the enjoyment of the citizenry more than half a century ago and continues to be a fundamental meeting point in the surroundings of Charco de San Ginés, where numerous local events and traditions have taken shape over the decades.

The new Board of Directors begins its mandate with the purpose of strengthening the socio-cultural activity of the space. “Our commitment is to help keep alive the popular culture of our city, actively participating in events such as carnivals and the San Ginés festivities, which are an essential part of our cultural heritage. This place is another symbol of Arrecife's identity,” Cabrera points out.
Likewise, the new Board of Directors emphasizes that one of the priority objectives will be that of fostering the active participation of residents/members in the organization and development of activities.
Profile of Pedro Cabrera
Pedro Cabrera Robson (Arrecife, 1999) has been a member since 2017 and a member of the Board of Directors at different stages, maintains a close link with the Society, of which he has been a part since a very young age, following the family tradition as the son and grandson of members. He is a graduate in Tourism from EUTL and currently works in the Human Resources area of a hotel chain.
Annual programming of activities
The House of Fear will continue developing a varied program throughout the year, which will include book presentations, exhibitions, bartender competitions, traditional celebrations with the participation of local groups, as well as cultural and leisure proposals for all ages.
With these actions, the entity reaffirms its vocation to be a community meeting point in which culture, coexistence and local identity are integrated in a natural way.
