The enjoyment of the carnival atmosphere and the creativity in the design of costumes made the traditional Las Breñas dance an overflowing encounter of joy that confirms that to have fun and have a good time you do not need large crowds. The enthusiasm of the neighbors and the festive music of Los Salineros de La Hoya and the rock of Inerxia gave a long Friday night of rhythms and fun.

The Carcajadas de Las Breñas Association awarded the best costumes in three categories: ‘Little horse, little horse, but how quiet’, individually; ‘Las melenuas’, as a couple; and ‘Oh my little donkey, don't cry anymore’, as a group.

The dance stood out for the diversity of costumes, mostly self-made using ingenuity and recyclable material, and with masked faces, an essential requirement in Las Breñas to be able to compete. Old women, clowns, foxes, cannibals, ghosts and others coincided in the carnival dance. The Councilor for Festivities of Yaiza, Javier Camacho, exalts the commitment of the Carcajadas Association with its people and the organizational work of cultural and festive meetings that promote integration.
