The Government group of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, formed by Coalición Canaria and the Partido Popular, have proposed naming Adoptive Sons of Lanzarote to Kenneth Gasquet, precursor of the Ironman in Lanzarote, and to the British journalist Liz Yeskie. They have also proposed naming as Favorite Son of Lanzarote posthumously the teacher Juan Santana, a native of Haría, former mayor of the municipality, former councilor of the Cabildo and honorary president of Coalición Canaria in Lanzarote.

Among the recognitions, the island's first institution has taken a step to award the Timanfaya de Oro a las Artes to the painter, essayist, narrator, playwright, and cultural manager Félix Hormiga, who passed away last December and had already been named Favorite Son of Lanzarote in October. Meanwhile, it proposes that the Timanfaya de Oro a las Ciencias be awarded to Lanzarote astrophysicist Mar Carretero, who discovered runaway stars in the Milky Way.

At the same time, it has also planned to award the Social Jameo de Oro to the Association of People with Disabilities of Lanzarote (Adislan); the Economic Jameo de Oro to Bodegas La Geria; the Sports Jameo de Oro to the mixed martial arts fighter Hecher Sosa, who last March celebrated his first fight in the UFC, and to the Club Deportivo Teguise, which celebrated its centenary last year.

Meanwhile, they have proposed the Golden Jameo for Traditional Culture to Ranchos de Pascua de Lanzarote; the Golden Jameo for Tourism to the Insular Association of Tourism Guides of Lanzarote (APIT); the Golden Jameo for Humanitarianism to Salvamento Marítimo;  Golden Jameo for International Solidarity to the Lanzarote nurse Cristina Martel, who traveled with Doctors Without Borders to Yemen in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic.

Thus, predictably it will also be awarded the Jameo de Oro Educativo,  UNED Lanzarote: with the Jameo de Oro for Sustainability, to the head of the Biosphere Reserve, Ana Carrasco; the Jameo de Oro for Equality for the Tinecheide Women's Club; the Jameo De Oro for Cultural Heritage to the Camel Sector of Lanzarote and to the salt worker of Femés Vicenta Bravo.

These distinctions have been taken to committee, but will then have to be approved in the island plenary session, where both parties have a majority. Therefore, it is expected that the award ceremony will take place on June 25.
