“At this moment, there are no colors or clubs”, the Club Deportivo Orientación Marítima stated on its social networks in response to one of the several messages of support that Aythami Machado, a footballer from the La Destila club, has received from the different Lanzarote football teams after suffering a heart attack during the past week, which had forced him to travel to Gran Canaria to be treated at the Doctor Negrín Hospital.
During the past weekend, numerous expressions of affection as well as tributes have been observed in the matches played by the teams from Lanzarote, both at the island and regional level.
Orientación Marítima itself suspended the training sessions of all the youth teams scheduled for last Friday, in addition to postponing the match that the cadet “C” was to play against PDC2016 at the Municipal de Argana in a sign of support for Aythami.
From the Arrecife club, they indicate that the player remains in the ICU, although he is “in better condition” and awaiting the results that will indicate to him and his family when they can return to Lanzarote so that the young man can begin his recovery and, in this way, see him smile again on the playing fields.
