Canary Islands experienced a particularly cold month of March. According to the climatological advance of the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) in the archipelago, March was the twenty-third coldest month of the year since data began to be collected in 1961. In addition, it was also the fifteenth wettest of the last 60 years.

By provinces, the islands of La Graciosa, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura and Gran Canaria recorded an anomaly in temperatures of 0.4 degrees below normal, the twenty-seventh coldest; while in Santa Cruz de Tenerife the difference was 1.2 degrees below.

The maximum temperature recorded in the eastern province was 20.4 degrees, which implies a mismatch of 0.6 degrees below normal, while in the western islands it was 16.5 degrees, 1.5 below normal. As for the minimums, in Tenerife, La Palma, La Gomera and El Hierro 9.7 degrees were recorded, one below normal.

This drop in temperatures was also reflected in the number of tropical nights. Specifically, in March 2025 no night has been recorded with temperatures above 20 degrees.

The highest temperature recorded in the archipelago took place at Lanzarote Airport, where 27.4 degrees were reached on March 29. Meanwhile, La Graciosa had the lowest maximum temperature of the islands, where it reached 23.1 degrees.

In contrast, the highest minimum in La Graciosa was 17.5 degrees and in Lanzarote 18 degrees.
