Lanzarote now has its first soundtrack thanks to Create an Anthem

The result of the "Create an Anthem" workshop, led by Enrique Mateu, is now in the form of a demo, has been recorded at the Arrecife Gran Hotel (where the course was held) and is in the process of being polished for its upcoming presentation. This composition has counted with the collaboration of Toñín Corujo and Neptar, a studio headed by Guely Robayna and Ane Fernández, who also participated in the classes. All of them have expressed their satisfaction with the result, including the councilor Carlos Espino, who attended the closing of the course.

The lyrics promote participation

Professional musicians, teachers and music fans in general, coming from all over the island, created the first soundtrack of Lanzarote's nature and a song whose lyrics promote participation.

The "Create an Anthem" workshop was taught by the composer Enrique Mateu last weekend at the Arrecife Gran Hotel and during the course of it a debate was established about how to face the challenge of creating an anthem or a song for Lanzarote.

The Honda Civic advertisement, the songs Stand by me, Playing for change, Song around the world and the slogan of Barack Obama's campaign, "Yes we can", have served as inspiration and preamble to the workshop, whose objective is the creation of a product that can be spread in a popular way to promote collaboration and cultural exchange.

All kinds of percussion

From this starting point, a "wikitaller" was proposed that took advantage of music and lyrics ideas from all over the world, with Enrique Mateu acting as a catalyst until reaching the final proposal.

At that point, Toñín Corujo took the guitar to give shape to the agreed proposal and the participants followed him making use of all kinds of supports and percussion tools (teaspoons, cups, hotel columns, tables, chairs, water bottles, papers, hand claps...) to specify the musical creation. A result that can be heard when all the workshops launched to develop the new promotion campaign of the Island through the "Create for Lanzarote" proposal are carried out.
