Around 250 students and 40 teachers from IES Puerto del Carmen celebrated the annual school coexistence day this Tuesday at Playa Grande. The objective of this initiative is to promote tolerance and understanding and has the collaboration of the Tías City Council.
The mayor, José Juan Cruz, and the Councilor for Education, Miriam Hernández, congratulated the educational community of the center, represented by the director, Alberto Pascua, and the deputy director, Raquel Roger. The aim is to enjoy the environmental environment by educating for peace, human rights and democratic values.
“We congratulate you for maintaining this initiative for so many years, which promotes the improvement of school coexistence in the center and the improvement of citizen coexistence in all circumstances, and which helps to prevent possible school conflicts,” said Miriam Hernández.
The Tías City Council collaborates with the provision of material resources such as tents, boards, tables, chairs, fences, volleyball and paddle nets, cones, etc., in addition to the Civil Protection service deployed to the area. The PFAE Playas Seguras also participates.
After the general welcome, the young people were distributed in groups to participate in the different workshops programmed by the teachers and the students themselves, such as batucada, yoga, sailor knots, kites, juggling or laughter therapy, among others.
The second period of the day consisted of participation by groups in different recreational-sports activities that consisted of games such as volleyball, rugby, dodgeball and soccer. In the last time slot, students were given free time for free coexistence activities.
