The mayor of Arrecife, Ástrid Pérez, and the councilor for Citizen Participation, Eli Merino, inaugurated yesterday, February 8, the specialized training day in communication organized for the third sector, where a framework of knowledge and collaboration was formed to strengthen organizations in the development of their projects and activities.
In this way, a total of 42 participants have received lessons on communication and the management of social networks, to generate greater awareness of their values and work through their messages. All this, with the aim of achieving awareness and support from social agents.
Pérez highlighted that "it was essential" to launch Citizen Participation projects and with this day, dedicated to knowing the importance of communication and providing tools for its management, "a climate of knowledge and collaboration between associations, public institutions and citizens has been fostered, with which we are very satisfied."
For her part, Merino indicated that the third sector "is essential" for the progress of our society, organizations are dedicated to devising and carrying out projects and activities to improve people's quality of life, promote social participation, promote equal opportunities and defend human rights.
In the same vein, the councilor stated that in order to increase the participation of social agents in the third sector, and help it achieve its purposes, "it is essential to establish training and cooperation spaces like this one."
Creativity workshop
From a personal and professional perspective, Fernando Rodríguez, vice president of the European Network of the Fight Against Poverty and Social Exclusion of the Canary Islands (EAPN), detailed in his presentation the power of constant and effective communication.
In turn, Olivia Brito, head of the creative department of the Biwi agency and social worker, explained the importance of creativity in the messages composed to raise awareness among society.
In this sense, a specialized workshop on impact communication and creativity was carried out, where participants acquired essential concepts and tools to create and plan quality content, write effective and attractive messages, preserve the image of the entity and generate a solid digital community.
New website
During the day, the new website of Citizen Participation of the Arrecife City Council was also presented, a portal that, in the words of the mayor, "will contribute to social projects being better designed and more realistic and will allow citizens to have a more active voice in decision-making."
