A total of 21 new health residents begin their specialized training in Lanzarote

They have started their training period in the Primary Care health centers and in the different services of the Doctor José Molina Orosa University Hospital and the Lanzarote Island Hospital.

A total of 21 new resident internal professionals have started their specialized training period in the Primary Care health centers and in the different services of the Doctor José Molina Orosa University Hospital and the Lanzarote Island Hospital. This was reported by the Management of Health Services of the Lanzarote Health Area, attached to the Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands this Wednesday.

In the coming years, thirteen Resident Internal Doctors (MIR) will be trained in the Lanzarote Health Area in the specialties of Family and Community Medicine, Geriatrics, Traumatology, Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, as well as eight nurses in the specialties of Family and Community Care, Pediatrics and Obstetrics and Gynecology.

The welcome ceremony, held this morning in the assembly hall of the Insular Library of Arrecife, was attended by the head of studies of the Teaching Unit, Verónica Gutiérrez, the directors of Primary Care, Aniuska Sutil and Victoria Estévez, and representing the management of the two hospitals on the island, Montserrat Sisón, representing Molina Orosa, and Mariola González, from the Insular Hospital, as well as the training tutors of the Management.

They all expressed their gratitude to the future residents for choosing Lanzarote to continue their training and for their commitment to the Canarian public health system and encouraged them to make the most of this stage of learning and training ahead, guided by their tutors.
