This Monday the works have begun on the central roads of Manolo Millares street in Arrecife. A section of works that has meant that traffic has to be diverted. According to sources from the City Council, the completion of the detours will be "a matter of a few days", although "the exact date is not yet known."
"We are working on the pavement of Manolo Millares, that is why traffic has had to be diverted," it says. "When these works are completed, it will be paved and opened to traffic, but it will depend on the execution time," he reports.
Although the works on the entire street have been "in progress for two or three months, the process has been accelerated", they explain from the Arrecife City Council. "The asphalt is being removed and the sidewalks are being paved," he says.
"Once the work on Manolo Millares is finished, traffic will be less affected," they say from the City Council. "The work in the southern area of the street is practically finished and is progressing very well," he says. Now, this week, "we will start working on the north side of the street" and then, "traffic will start to be diverted to the south", he adds.
From the consistory they affirm that "it is going to give a change to the physiognomy of the street and the direction of traffic". The main change will be that "it will be a street for entry and exit", which is now "only for exit".
In addition, he confirms that "the idea is that the work will be finished by autumn" so that "in September the works will begin on Avenida en Fred Olsen." Some works that cannot be done until that month, due to the celebration of the San Ginés festivities to "affect the residents as little as possible and the concentration that will be there in those days", he concludes.
