Meanwhile, this report points out the "dependence on private cars" in Lanzarote. "During the high season, traffic congestion and internal mobility problems are being suffered." At the same time, it highlights that the lack of an "efficient" public transport infrastructure means "depending on private cars" and "increasing the environmental footprint and mobility costs."
The island of volcanoes is the second of those analyzed with the most registered vehicles, up to 6,324 in 2024. These data, both in Lanzarote and Ibiza, show "a high dependence on tourism and the need for mobility."
