The woman who abandoned the two dogs in her home that were found in decomposition last Sunday will be investigated for an alleged crime of animal abuse. The case managed by the Local Police has already been placed at the disposal of the courts, as reported by the Councilor of the Local Police of Arrecife, Jacobo Lemes.

The neighbors of an apartment block located on La Fermina street in Arrecife alerted the Local Police of the municipality due to the bad smell coming from a house. The events occurred during noon last Sunday, the stench led agents of the municipality and firefighters of the island to move to the place.

After trying unsuccessfully to locate the tenant of the house, they proceeded to access the interior of the apartment. Once inside, they realized that there were two dead dogs in a state of decomposition. Lemes narrates that the agents were unable to locate the woman before opening the property and affirms that according to the testimony of the local police, the woman had abandoned the house, without clarifying whether she had gone on vacation or had moved from the place.
