National Police agents have arrested in Arrecife two minors, 14 and 16 years old, of foreign nationality, as alleged perpetrators of a crime of robbery with violence. They assaulted a 79-year-old woman who was walking with the help of a cane.
The events occurred on the night of Saturday, December 26, when a woman was returning to her home from a Senior Center in Arrecife. Suddenly, she felt a strong tug that bent her finger and made her drop her bag. When she turned around, she could see two young men running away from the place with the bag in one hand.
A man who was in the vicinity helped her and called 091, who sent several police units to the scene. Upon the arrival of the agents, the victim provided the characteristics of those responsible, who were located in the vicinity and reached after fleeing.
The woman was transferred by a police vehicle to the nearest Health Center with a picture of anxiety. All the stolen objects were recovered, which had been abandoned by the alleged perpetrators, after realizing the police presence.
After the corresponding report was prepared, the detainees were placed at the disposal of the Provincial Prosecutor's Office of Las Palmas. The police intervention was carried out by agents of the Citizen Attention Group of the Local Police Station of Arrecife.
