The Civil Guard arrested this Tuesday night the alleged perpetrators of 12 robberies in homes and apartments in Costa Calma, in Fuerteventura.
J.M.S., 25 years old, from Seville and resident of Costa Calma, together with P.D.R.V., 24 years old, from Jaén and resident of La Lajita (Pájara), are accused of 12 crimes of robbery with force.
According to a statement from the Armed Institute, for several days the Civil Guard of Gran Tarajal had been investigating a series of robberies in homes, apartments and hotel rooms in the tourist town of Costa Calma, in the municipality of Pájara, perpetrated during the absence of their residents or tenants, with the victims being both residents and foreign tourists, facts that had generated a certain climate of insecurity in the tourism sector.
During a search inside the home of the second detainee, the civil guards recovered a large quantity of stolen goods, mostly electronic devices, all of which valued at 24,000 euros.
Among the recovered material, there are 3 televisions, 3 laptops, 2 DVD videos, 1 DVD player, 2 video cameras, 3 mobile phones, 1 music player, 1 video console, 1 silver watch, 1 digital camera, 1 music player, several electronic games, several Marijuana seeds and 70 packs of cigarettes of different brands.
After this action, the agents are taking steps to return these effects to their legitimate owners, while the two detainees have already been placed at the disposal of the court before the head of the Court of Instruction Number One of Puerto del Rosario.
