National Police agents have arrested two men, aged 52 and 33, in Arrecife, one of them with a police record, as alleged perpetrators of a crime of theft and receiving respectively, after a supermarket chain reported the theft of 95 shopping carts, valued at 10,260 euros. The alleged perpetrator of the theft and the person in charge of a metal recovery company, to whom the former had sold the carts, were arrested.
The events were triggered by a complaint to the National Police by the manager of the supermarket chain, reporting the theft of the 95 shopping carts. The manager told the agents that he had seen several carts from his company inside a metal recovery company on the island.
A police investigation was thus initiated, which allowed the recovery of nine of the carts reported as stolen, and the agents proceeded to arrest the person in charge of the company as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of receiving.
Likewise, the police officers managed to identify the alleged perpetrator of the theft of the carts, who was arrested for a crime of theft. After drawing up the corresponding police report, it was sent to the competent Judicial Authority.
