National Police agents have arrested J.G.R.A., a 34-year-old man, and J.A.M.M., a 50-year-old man, both with more than 20 police records, in the municipality of Arrecife, as alleged perpetrators of crimes against traffic safety, vehicle theft and assault on law enforcement officers. The arrested individuals stole a car from a garage and drove it "at high speed" through several streets of the capital, "seriously endangering numerous pedestrians until they could finally be arrested by the police officers." During their arrest, four National Police agents sustained minor injuries.

The events unfolded after several calls to the 091 telephone number reporting that a car was driving at high speed through the streets of Arrecife.

Several police patrols conducted a search of the area until they located the vehicle with two occupants inside, who, upon noticing the police presence, began to flee through the streets of the Lanzarote capital, "seriously endangering numerous pedestrians," according to the National Police.

Through the CECOR 091, the agents were able to confirm that it was a vehicle stolen moments before from a garage in Arrecife.

Due to the speed, the car finally collided with a van that was parked, at which point four National Police agents intercepted the two occupants, who showed "great aggression and resistance" during their arrest. The agents sustained minor injuries during the intervention.

Once subdued, the two individuals were arrested as alleged perpetrators of crimes against traffic safety, vehicle theft, and assault on law enforcement officers. Both the car and the recovered objects found inside were returned to their rightful owner. After the corresponding police report was prepared, the detainees were placed at the disposal of the competent Judicial Authority.
