Firefighters had to act in Arrecife this Wednesday due to the strong wind that has been hitting the island since Tuesday, as reported by the Emergency Consortium.
The first of the incidents occurred at 2:07 p.m. on Pérez Galdós Street, when firefighters, alerted by CECOES, went to the scene. Once in the area, they verified that the ornament had come loose from one of its anchors and there was a risk of it falling onto the public road. Emergency personnel had to remove the ornament.
The second intervention was on Apolo Street at 6:30 p.m., when firefighters were alerted by the Manager of the Security and Emergency Consortium. They moved to the Casa Cuartel of the Traffic Civil Guard, as the leaves of a palm tree were falling inside the building. Firefighters had to prune it so that the palms would stop falling.
