The search for the 41-year-old Uruguayan man missing in Lanzarote has concluded unsuccessfully on Friday afternoon. It is the third consecutive day in which a large Emergency device from the island tries to locate Miguel Ángel Gentile, who presumably had gone hiking on the Camino de las Rositas, in the town of Ye, in the municipality of Haría, at the beginning of this month.
According to the information provided so far, Miguel Ángel Gentile's father from Brazil was the one who informed the Civil Guard of the man's possible disappearance, as he had not heard from his son for weeks. On the island, Gentile only has one relative with whom he would not maintain a close relationship.
Once in the Risco de Famara, last Wednesday the firefighters of Lanzarote and La Graciosa coordinated with the Civil Guard, which directs the operation, and the Local Police of Haría to organize the search. A drone was deployed to track the area of the Camino de las Rositas, while the La Graciosa unit inspected below El Risco. In parallel, Civil Guard and Local Police officers carried out foot searches.
The manager of the Security and Emergencies Consortium, Enrique Espinosa, has explained that for this operation they have had to select experienced people because it is a very steep area. For the moment, the helicopter will not be activated and the searches will be carried out by a drone.
The Emergency Consortium has reported that Gentile's vehicle was found in this parking lot, as well as his mobile phone and personal documentation. The hypothesis being considered by the armed institute is that the car had been at the location since last April 5.
