Ten immigrants of Moroccan origin have been arrested this Wednesday after two new boats were located in the morning stranded on the coasts of the municipalities of Teguise and Haría.
According to data provided by the Civil Guard, at approximately 07:45 hours a boat with two engines was found stranded on the coastline in the Los Charcos area, Teguise. After a search of the area, agents found no trace of the occupants of the barge.
On the other hand, around 08:00 in the morning a call was received from a private individual to the 112 emergency service, alerting of the arrival of another boat, this time in Caleta de Mero, in Haría where, after the fiscal patrol carried out a search of the area, two immigrants, men, adults and natives of Morocco were located at approximately 08:55 hours.
After their identification, the Armed Institute placed both immigrants at the disposal of the National Police.
The Civil Guard stressed that throughout this Wednesday the search device would continue to be operational for the rest of the clandestine foreigners who are supposed to have arrived with the two detainees, and with the location of the occupants of the first boat stranded in Haría.
As a result of this device, at noon another six adult Moroccan male immigrants were arrested, who were hiding in the Arenas Blancas area, near Órzola.
Later in the afternoon, in the vicinity of the town of Órzola, the Local Police of Haría located another two adult Moroccan male immigrants, belonging to the boat that arrived at Caleta del Mero, and with whose arrest the number of immigrants arrested this Wednesday rises to ten.
The extensive deployment of land patrols of the Armed Institute will continue with the search in the coastal areas and in the interior of the municipalities of Haría and Teguise.

In the last five days a total of six boats have arrived on the coasts of Lanzarote and, with the last ten detainees, the number of irregular immigrants apprehended in that period rises to 35.
