The lifeless body of a woman has been located on Monday morning near Papagayo, in the area known as Punta Gorda, and is currently awaiting the coroner's report to confirm her identity, as it could be Corinna U., who disappeared last Wednesday.

The body was found by a fisherman, and the Civil Guard patrol boat was in charge of collecting the body and transferring it to Puerto Naos for identification.

In principle, according to reports from the Security and Emergency Consortium, both the description of the woman and the area in which the body has been located reinforce the hypothesis that it is the woman who disappeared in the El Charco del Palo area, since the currents could have moved the body to the south of the island.

Judicial investigation

On the afternoon of this Sunday, the security and emergency services had left the search for Corinna U. in the hands of the judicial police of the Civil Guard. Although from the beginning the hypothesis that she had suffered an accident at sea was considered, no trace of her had been found during these days, and the days that had passed suggested that the body should have already surfaced in case of having died in the water.

Now, awaiting the results of the forensic examination, the sad discovery of this Monday makes us look back again at this 42-year-old Austrian woman, resident in Playa Honda, who disappeared last Wednesday, December 29 in the area of El Charco del Palo.
