The surfing world in Lanzarote mourns the death of the athlete Ayoub Adardour, who died this Tuesday while practicing underwater fishing near the La Tiñosa dock, in the Playa Chica area, in Puerto del Carmen, as La Voz reported.
Apparently, the well-known bodyboarder had jumped into the sea from the breakwater of the dock to fish and that's where he was lost. His bag was found on the breakwater. After taking him out of the water, Emerlan personnel began to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation. After that, the health personnel of the Canary Islands Emergency Service arrived, who confirmed that the affected person remained in cardiorespiratory arrest and continued with the resuscitation. Finally, nothing could be done to save his life and the young man ended up dying.
Ayoub Adardour dedicated himself to surfing, a sport to which he dedicated most of his day to day in Lanzarote, the island where he currently resided. In addition, in his native Morocco he ran a surf school in the town of Sidi Ifni.
From the Lanzarote Quemao Class, the International Surf and Bodyboard competition that is held on the island, they wanted to offer their condolences for the death of the young man and also remember him with a nice farewell. "Today is a sad day for our community. The bodyboarder Ayoub Adardour has left us while practicing another of his passions, underwater fishing. Of Moroccan origin, he knew how to make a place for himself in Lanzarote and in our hearts, a friend whose dream was to win the Quemao Class", they recalled.
The Quemao Class was not only one of the competitions in which the young man participated, but also in 2021 he presented himself to the Basque Champ Bodyboard. He also had the luck to participate in the ETB Gran Canaria Pro last year, a competition that belongs to the European bodyboard circuit and is held on the beach of Las Canteras, in Gran Canaria.
