The Civil Guard at the Guacimeta Airport, in Lanzarote, arrested a woman from a flight from Madrid in one of its terminals, who was carrying two kilos of cocaine that she intended to introduce to the Island.
This operation took place within the scope of the different inspections that the armed corps carries out randomly aimed at preventing and prosecuting smuggling, as well as other crimes. This inspection is carried out on both passengers and luggage.
In this case, when carrying out the aforementioned inspections on both a woman and her
luggage, a package wrapped in plastic was detected among the belongings of a suitcase, inside which there was supposedly cocaine, weighing approximately 2,000 grams.
For such events, a woman whose initials correspond to L.M.Z.G. was arrested as the alleged perpetrator of a drug trafficking crime. The detainee, together with the proceedings and the seized drug, were placed at the disposal of the Investigating Court, which ordered her imprisonment.
