The defense of the accused of assaulting the young Italian Salvatore Sinagra in a nightclub in Matagorda, in Puerto del Carmen, and who has been in provisional prison since February 3 for these events, has requested the Court to grant him provisional freedom. This is what La Voz has learned, through sources close to the investigation.
The request to end the provisional detention arises after Salvatore Sinagra's family reported on social media that the young man woke up two days ago from the induced coma, after sixteen days struggling between life and death in the hospital. The victim remains in the Intensive Care Unit, after suffering a traumatic brain injury. So far, it has not been possible to determine what the consequences Sinagra will suffer as a result of what happened.
The Civil Guard arrested on February 1 at 11:40 p.m. in the Argana neighborhood the accused of assaulting Salvatore, P.M.R.R., a Canary Islander and resident of Lanzarote. This defendant, who has several criminal records and is convicted of the assault on an elderly man two years ago on the island, was arrested for a crime of injury.
On February 3, the duty court ordered his admission to provisional prison. While four days later, the Court of Instruction number 3, which was on duty when the assault occurred, assumed the case and ratified the admission to prison.
