The judge has ordered this Monday provisional imprisonment without bail for the alleged perpetrator of the assault on the young Italian Salvatore Sinagra in a shopping center in Matagorda at the end of January, as reported by the Superior Court of Justice of the Canary Islands (TSJC). Specifically, the Investigating Court number four of Arrecife is investigating him for a crime of serious injury after giving him "several punches", as reported this past weekend by the Civil Guard after arguing in a nightlife venue in the area.

The young man has been in an induced coma since then and had to be transferred to the Doctor Negrín Hospital in Gran Canaria.

The Investigating Court number four of Arrecife has determined his entry into prison this Monday. However, according to the TSJC, that judicial body will abstain from hearing the case in favor of the Investigating Court number three, which was the one on duty when the events occurred on January 26.

As revealed to La Voz by the owner of the premises where the discussion began, the conflict began over a dispute after a game of foosball. This same source assures that outside the establishment the alleged perpetrator gave the young man "a slap" and denies that there were "several punches" or that other elements were used for the aggression. "It is true that the aggressor was burly and tall, but there were no weapons such as an iron fist or an iron bar as has been said," he added.

After allegedly hitting him, Salvatore Sinagra fell to the ground and the aggressor left the place. The victim frequented this nightlife establishment in Matagorda, while the aggressor did not usually go to the place. As this editorial office has been able to confirm, the detainee is a 25-year-old Canarian. In addition, the same sources have highlighted that he is a resident in the Los Geranios neighborhood, in Arrecife, and that he belongs to "a gang" in the capital.
