The Sicilian Salvatore Sinagra, the 30-year-old who was assaulted in late January in a Lanzarote bar, has been discharged from the hospital. On January 26, the Italian, who ran a bar on the island, was assaulted in a nightlife establishment in Puerto del Carmen. At that time, he had to be urgently transferred by helicopter to the Doctor Negrín Hospital in Gran Canaria, where he remained hospitalized for two months and a week.

Sinagra was transferred to the Gran Canaria hospital in induced coma due to a cerebral hematoma after receiving a punch in a shopping center in Matagorda, in Puerto del Carmen. It was not until 16 days later, on February 11, when he woke up. "Finally a little light at the end of the tunnel," his brother Vito Sinagra celebrated in a story published on social media that same day.

His brother, who, as La Voz has learned, had traveled with his father to Gran Canaria to closely monitor the evolution of Salvatore Sinagra. "Our Salvatore is returning among us. He alternates moments of lucidity with dreams, speaks and gives signs of moving," his brother continued on social media.

On this occasion, this editorial staff has been able to confirm that Salvatore Sinagra returned to Favignana, the Sicilian island where he was born, on April 2, after being discharged from the hospital.

Likewise, his father Andrea Sinagra has been in charge of informing his countrymen of this good news. Finally, after tremendous and painful months, the whole family is returning home," he celebrated.

In this sense, he highlighted that "with much effort and fatigue" they are trying to "resume daily life." At the same time, he thanked everyone for making them not feel alone. "Your prayers gave us the strength to fight for our son's life and the miracle happened with the amazement of the doctors themselves. Salvador is with us."

Salvatore Sinagra's father has thus thanked the support of the Sicilian community, which has gathered on different occasions to send strength to the young man. Meanwhile, family sources have assured that the Italian is doing well, but that it is still too early to know what the consequences of the aggression may be.

For the moment, since February 3, a court in Arrecife decreed the entry into provisional communicated prison without bail for the alleged perpetrator of the aggression.
