Sixteen days after Salvatore Sinagra was attacked in a nightclub in the Matagorda shopping center, in Puerto del Carmen, the young Italian has awakened from the induced coma. "Finally a little light at the end of the tunnel," his brother Vito Sinagra celebrated in a story published on social media on February 11.

After being the victim of an assault on January 26 in Lanzarote, Sinagra was urgently evacuated to the Doctor Negrín Hospital in Gran Canaria and underwent surgery for a skull fracture.

His brother, who, as La Voz has learned, has moved with his father to Gran Canaria to learn about the evolution of Salvatore Sinagra, has reported: "Our Salvatore is returning among us. He alternates moments of lucidity with dreams, speaks and gives signs of moving," he continued.

Salvatore Sinagra is a native of the Sicilian island of Favignana, but had been living in Lanzarote for some time, where he worked as a hotelier in a local in Playa Honda. The young man was about to leave the island soon, when he was attacked and his life took a 180 degree turn.

"He is not completely conscious but he is responding well, although he remains in Intensive Care. This gives us good hope," explained the brother, who took the opportunity to thank his compatriots on the island of Favignana for the warmth they had received from the "first moment." In addition, he congratulated the entire medical team of Negrín and assured that they are "truly excellent professionals, very human and always available. We couldn't have found anything better."

On February 1, the Civil Guard of Lanzarote arrested the alleged perpetrator of the attack on Salvatore Sinagra. Two days later, the Court ordered his admission to provisional communicated prison without bail for a crime of serious injury.
