The 38 irregular immigrants who had been untraceable since Wednesday afternoon were rescued this Thursday morning and are now at the Tuineje dock, where they have been identified by the Guardia Civil and have consumed their first food.

In general, they appear to be in good health, despite the symptoms caused by the cold. Some of them have vomiting, although it is not necessary to transfer them to a health center.

After three days at sea, the boat was located by the Air Rescue Service (SAR) 12 miles from the Entallada Lighthouse, in the Majorera municipality of Tuineje, although they were rescued at 9:00 a.m. by a Salvamento Marítimo vessel.

The boat had a engine failure, but no water leaks were detected, so the rescue was not complicated.

The rescue device was started after one of the immigrants contacted the 112 Emergency Coordination Center at around 5:00 p.m. this Wednesday, through a mobile phone. In the call, he assured that he was traveling in the boat with 37 other people and that they were adrift after suffering an engine failure.
