Agents assigned to the Local Brigade of the Judicial Police of the Police Station of the National Police Corps of the town of Telde and the Judicial Police of the Airport Police Station, within the framework of operation "ESTRELLA", have proceeded to the total dismantling of a family clan and its collaborators, who carried out operations of sale and distribution of narcotic substances in the Las Remudas neighborhood of the city of Telde.
The investigations began last November, after the constant presence of drug addicts in this area was detected. This situation had generated great social alarm in the neighborhood, taking into account that a few meters from the place where drug trafficking took place, is the Municipal Nursery and a Teaching Institute.
On the other hand, the climate of insecurity was latent among the neighbors, many of them victims of crimes such as robberies with violence and against property, committed by drug addicts to get the money needed to buy their daily doses.
Once a discreet but effective surveillance device was established in order to locate the main focus of sale and identify those involved, it resulted that within a few days it could be determined that the drug transactions were carried out in one of the parking lots of Las Remudas, fully identifying all the members of the family clan and its collaborators.
Likewise, it was possible to determine the "modus operandi" used by them, managing to find out that the ringleaders of the gang were a mother and her son, responsible for the acquisition and adulteration of the drug that they later distributed to medium-sized traffickers in charge of the direct sale to drug addicts.
Days later, the members of the gang were arrested, being Francisco Q. M., 49 years old, who has 23 arrests for multiple crimes, Víctor Manuel P. F., 32, with 22 arrests, almost all for drug trafficking, Carlos L. F., 31, arrested on 28 occasions for very varied crimes, Mª Estrella F. R., 60 years old, arrested on two occasions for drug trafficking, Alberto R. S., 30, with ten arrests for various crimes and Andrés P. R., 30, with a record.
The operation has resulted in the seizure of more than 300 doses of "Crack", a large quantity of valuable jewelry which was handed over by drug addicts as a form of payment, 12,000 euros in fractional currency and numerous objects that have allowed the clarification of several robberies of commercial establishments in Telde.
The six detainees, together with the proceedings instructed, were placed at the disposal of the Judicial Authority, which ordered the imprisonment of four of them.
