The search for the young man missing in the Los Charcones area of Playa Blanca resumed early this Monday with a new deployment of emergency services. The Yaiza Local Police were the first to activate the operation, carrying out a drone flight equipped with a thermal camera to scan the area from the air.
According to forecasts, the rest of the maritime and air resources will be progressively incorporated throughout the morning, in an attempt to locate the fourth young person who remains missing after the incident that occurred on Sunday afternoon.
It should be remembered that the incident took place on Sunday, January 25, when four young people of American nationality, between 19 and 21 years old, were in distress in this dangerous coastal area, closed to swimming due to a yellow alert due to strong waves. Two of them managed to get out on their own, a third was rescued alive by the GES helicopter, while the fourth remains missing.
The search operation was suspended on Sunday afternoon/evening due to lack of visibility and adverse sea conditions, with its resumption scheduled for Monday with the first light of day, as has finally happened
