A large emergency response was activated on Sunday afternoon, January 25, after a call was received at 3:07 PM by the CECOES 1-1-2 reporting that four foreign nationals were in distress in the Los Charcones area, in Playa Blanca, within the municipality of Yaiza.

According to the information provided, two of them had disappeared, while another two managed to get out on their own from the breakwater, sustaining minor injuries, although they refused medical assistance. Subsequently, the helicopter of the Emergency and Rescue Group (GES) managed to rescue a third person alive, while the search continues for a fourth, whose whereabouts are unknown.
